Keegan and his Best Buddy!

Just wanted to share a cute picture quick of Keegan and his best bud Brodie!

Blue Angels!

Yesterday, Chad, Keegan, Sophia, my friend Cara and I headed to New Orleans for the air show! It was a great day, hot but the wind was blowing! Keegan had a blast, even if he did basicly fall asleep right before the Angels took the show....but we got him up in time! Keegan got to see and go into a ton of helicopters and airplanes which is what he has been in love with for the past couple weeks so he was in heaven! Sophia did GREAT. We thought the loud jets would bother her more, but she did pretty good as long as we were covering her ears! All of us, except for maybe Keegan and Sophie came home with sunburn somewhere on us, Chad on the top of his head, Mellissa on her legs and shoulders and Cara in all of the places she missed putting sunscreen! It was nice to get out and away from Gulfport for the day! We all had a Great time!

April Fun!

Here are some pictures of all the fun stuff we have done the last couple of weeks during the day! It is hard to get used to having 2 kids in the house, but we are managing pretty good I think. Keegan is having a hard time sharing our attention, but is slowly getting better. Keegan, Sophia and I have joined a playgroup and meet with a bunch of other moms and kids each Wednesday afternoon and do a bunch of fun stuff. This past Wednesday we went to the beach and this Wednesday we are headed to the Splash Pad Park! We have also spent some time at the park, hanging out around the house and Keegan is playing tball again! I have started to workout and Chad is starting to get us ready for our up and coming move to Maryland! Things are starting to fall in place here now with 2 little ones in the house, it is crazy but so much fun at the same time!

April 18-April 25 Grandma Wendy and Great Grandma came to visit. They were a big help keeping Keegan busy while I tended to Sophia. Of course they got their loving time with Sophia too. We had a bunch of appointments that week, but all in all it was lots of fun!

An update

Just thought I would quick updated everyone. Monday, Sophia had her recheck for her eye. It was horrible! Not for her, but because the Dr was AGAIN TERRIBLE!!! Thanks to Andrea, I have the name of the person I need to contact to complain. Her appointment was at 1pm and the Dr. didn't come into the room until about 10 to 2!!!! She still isn't sure what is going on with her eye so then she calls the eye dr and says, oh they will see you in about 15 mins! Plus I needed to switch her formula because she hadn't been burping or pooping very well for us. So finally the dr comes back in and I tell her, I can't take her to the eye dr in 15 mins, because you were 50 mins late, I have 10 mins before my Neuro appt!! Then she goes, Oh I wish you would have told me! HELLO!!!! You never said that we were going to have to go to see him today!!!! Anyway, then she leaves again for about 10 mins and comes back and is rude and says well you can't go there today you have to go tomorrow morning as a walk in. Fine with me!

Then I go to my neuro appt. which I was right on time for, get there, sit for 5 mins, see my dr, who is awesome. He gives me my options and I agree with him, so now I am on meds everyday to prevent headaches and a better medicine to take care of the ones I am getting. As of right now, he told me I will have a rough couple of days because I was having to take my other meds everyday so I will probably have rebound headaches from not taking that one! But if that is what I have to do to make these horrible headaches go away I will deal with it.

We go back in Tuesday to the eye dr. He was concerned that she might have a skin infection on her eye lid, but that isn't the case. He is thinking it might be birth trama, but isn't sure, so because he wants to put our mind and his at ease, he is sending us out in town to a pediatric eye dr. Which makes me happy that someone used to looking at kid's eyes will be seeing her. I then went up to labor and delivery for my blood pressure check. Since about Saturday it had been low so I stopped taking my blood pressure meds and it was PREFECT so I got the okay to stop taking them! Yeppie!!!!!

Then today.....WIC is HORRIBLE here! The dr. wrote the prescription for Sophia's new formula, Gentlease because it easier to digest and break down, yeah well they are like, we don't have that so , this one is pretty much just like it and give us Lactosfree....which would be fine with me, but they give us the concentrate liquid form, not the powder!!!!!! Are you serious???? I am so done with Mississippi!!! That just made me hate it here even more than I normally do!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mellissa and Sophia Dr. appt update

Sophia and I had Doctor's appointments this week.

I had mine on Wednesday, I just had to run up to labor and delivery for my blood pressure check. After them forgetting about me, which was good and bad at the same time cause my friend Andrea had her baby so she took a walk to visit me a couple doors down, they took it twice and it was still alittle high. So I asked the Dr. Medina about staying on my blood pressure meds and he said at least one more week so I have to go back next Wednesday. However, my blood pressure was really low twice this afternoon and then went back to around normal (a little higher) so Chad suggested I not take my pill tomorrow and see how I do. Hopefully the pre-eclampsia has finally cured itself and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I do still get my headaches though, but I go to neurology on Monday for that.

Sophia's appointment was on Thursday. If I would have really looked at her appointment paper I probably would have rescheduled it because the Dr she was scheduled with is one that I don't really like. Anyway, she is still an oz below her birth weight, so she is 6lbs 13oz. I basicly got yelled at for that because she should be eating more, but whatever. She is happy with her 2 oz every 3 hours and spits up the 3rd oz if we give it to her. Then the Dr. tried telling me that she wants her by her 2 month appt. to be drinking 6-8oz. Keegan never got past 4 oz a feeding. Also her eye is still red and swollen so she looked at that, doesn't really know what it is so we go back Monday for that also and if it is still swollen she said she will send us to the eye dr. You can tell in most of the pictures, it is her left eye. Other than that she is doing good. Oh and Labor and Delivery measured her wrong cause she was 19 1/2 inches, and I don't think she grew an inch and a half in 2 weeks. I seen them measure her this time and I know this one is more accurate. Other than that, things are going good with her. She does have an umbilical hernia, but it doesn't look to bad so it should be okay. We really only notice when she is cold or cries.

That is our update for now. My mom and grandma will be on their way later tonight and get here tomorrow, so look for more pictures and all!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! We had a lot of fun! Chad's dad was in town so he helped Keegan dye Easter eggs. Keegan had a blast and had been asking to dye them for 2 days straight!!! He made everyone eggs with their name on them! Here are some pictures of him dyeing the eggs!

Saturday, the base had their Easter Egg Hunt. If you get a golden egg, you get a prize! Keegan got one of them (with a little help from mommy). He also got to jump in the jump house, get a tattoo, ride on the train with his best buddy Brodie, play games for prizes and play on the playground. When he turned his ticket in for his prize he was mad cause it was a baby toy! Not quite sure why they had all baby leap frog toys for the age group 0-4 when most of the kids were 3 and 4, oh well. He likes his bus now!

The Easter bunny came Sunday morning and hid eggs all over the living room! Then sent Keegan on a mission to find his basket which he finally found in the dryer. The bunny surprised him with a transformer that he has been wanting, Bumble Bee, a nerf shooter gun and a new monster truck and a bunch of yummy jelly belly jelly beans and some elmons (aka M&M's). After the hunt for his stuff, Chad, Grandpa Denny, Sophia, Keegan and I got ready for church. I tried on Friday to find a premie Easter dress for Sophie but that didn't work out so good! So she wore the outfit daddy got for her. Keegan looked handsome like normal!
